Regulation and Governance

We are a member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).   The firm is governed by ICAEW practice management principles aimed at protecting the public.   These include:

  • Quality Assurance oversight by ICAEW
  • The obligation to hold Professional Indemnity Insurance
  • Following ICAEW regulations and guidance

Our insolvency practice is also overseen by the ICAEW.

We are also members of R3: The Association of Business Recovery Professionals.   R3 members have helped to save many businesses, large and small, across most industry sectors.

The firm seeks Rescue, Renewal and Recovery for client companies where this can be achieved. 

Specialists within the practice and its associated consulting firm, AP Benson, have a range of qualifications, accreditations and affiliations, available on request.

Complaints should be referred to the firm's Principal, Mr. Girn, in the first instance and may be referred to ICAEW in the event that the complainant is not satisfied with the firm's resolution, management or explanation in response to the claim.   The firm encourages the use of mediation and dispute resolution services before resort to litigation.

Information on our firm's other activities is set out in this website.   We do not anticipate conflicts of interest in working with clients but we review each case at its inception and periodically in the course of the case for potential conflicts and we would work to resolve a conflict of interest quickly and appropriately should one be recognised. In resolving the conflict, we would be guided by the Code of Ethics of The ICAEW which can be viewed at www.icaew.com/en/technical/ethics, Code of Ethics section 220.

Prices for services are not predetermined and will usually be set out in either a Letter of Engagement which forms our agreement with a client or in a form otherwise approved for the provision of insolvency services, e.g. in regulated communications to creditors.
